I had been telling Tiffany on behalf of the past two weekends that I was “bored” as well as wanting to get out as well as shoot. This morning we met Bennett as well as Patti with their an estimated one year old son; Jeb. Patti as well as Tiffany work at MCV combined in the MRICU. I told Mike about my photography as well as once I found out he had a young son I had mentioned that we should take some shots sometime. Well that sometime was today. Mike as well as his wife Cristen spent the weekend at Smith Mountain Lake on behalf of a vacation as well as then made there way to Richmond this morning before heading residence to Centerville,VA. We met at Dogwood Dell to take some shots, continue to catch up, as well as even reminisce a bit about the past. This was only my 2nd attempt at doing “Family Portraits” as I have found that photographing children of any age is quite difficult, but Luke was a trooper as well as was a joy to photograph. They were the first couple to book a 2009 wedding with me as well as was excited to hear they wanted to do their engagement photographs soon in Fredericksburg. I had never been to Fredericksburg but had passed it plenty of times as I made my commutes to Northern Virginia. A very historic town as well as Caroline Street was the perfect setting. It just happened to be the first real warm weekend of 2008, temperatures were hovering right around 100 degrees but we fought off the heat to get some great shots. Steve as well as Kelly are the new parents to Aubrey, a beautiful two month old girl. Not having ever taken portraits of a newborn (other than my niece) I was really trying before the shoot to gather ideas as well as to go into the session with a mindset that it was an engagement session, plus a newborn Steve as well as Kelly opened their doors to their beautiful residence on behalf of the shoot. I have never had to take a boat to get to a location, I’ve never shot at a battlefield as well as I have never climbed a tree into a “treehouse” to get a shot. It was lovely getting to spend sometime with them as there wedding shall be here quite soon, October 4th. Restaurant on Main Street, sad to say it was closed on behalf of operations.. “Long Lost Lake” actually flooded in 2001, this was a common scene around the lake.
